Naturopathic medicine is a holistic approach to healthcare that focuses on prevention, patient education, and natural therapies to help individuals achieve optimal health and wellness. Naturopathic doctors are highly trained professionals who complete four years of post-graduate education in Naturopathic medicine. They are regulated through the College of Naturopaths of Ontario, ensuring that they meet rigorous standards of education and practice. Naturopathic doctors (NDs) use a variety of treatments, such as dietary and lifestyle counselling, botanical/herbal medicine, nutritional supplementation, Traditional Chinese Medicine, acupuncture, and perform lab testing to address the root cause of illness and develop personalized treatment plans that support the body's natural healing processes. The focus on prevention and individualized care empowers patients to take an active role in their health and well-being, reducing their risk of developing chronic diseases and other health problems.

Another benefit of Naturopathic medicine is its ability to work alongside conventional medicine, helping to enhance the effectiveness of traditional treatments and minimize side effects. Naturopathic medicine can be especially useful in supporting women's health throughout all stages of life, addressing hormonal imbalances, fertility issues, pregnancy-related concerns, and a variety of other health concerns. By recognizing the interconnectedness of physical, emotional, and environmental factors, Naturopathic medicine offers a personalized approach to healthcare that empowers individuals to achieve and maintain their health goals, whether that's reducing chronic pain, improving energy levels, promoting healthy digestion, or promoting healthy aging.

Overall, Naturopathic medicine can help individuals achieve a higher level of well-being and vitality. If you're interested in exploring the benefits of naturopathic medicine for your health and wellness needs, schedule a Complementary Consult with our Naturopathic Doctor to discuss your health goals.

Verity is a graduate of the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy and a member of the Ontario Osteopathic Association. Given half a chance, she could happily talk about Osteopathy all day long, but would much prefer that people experience it for themselves. Her approach to treatment is centered around removing the root cause of dysfunction, and helping patients rediscover their optimal health.

Just like it’s impossible to touch a single thread of a spider’s web without affecting the whole thing, her experience receiving Osteopathic treatments taught her that sometimes the areas of the body where pain or discomfort are felt are just the effect of dysfunction in a completely different area. She also discovered that Osteopathy was not a form of wizardry, but a way of thinking about the body and how the parts relate to each other structurally.

In her spare time, she enjoys hiking and mountain biking with her family or reading a book in the sunshine. She’s also been known to optimistically take on physical activities like mud runs that leave her wondering whose terrible idea it was to begin with (always hers!).

Pam started her career as an RMT in 2018, to say she has a real passion for it would be an understatement. Her own experiences and interests have led her down a unique path in the massage therapy world beyond the usual methods and modalities used by RMTs. After becoming certified Pam has continued learning, completing courses in Pelvic Health, Cesarean Scar Release, and most recently she’s completed 2 levels of Visceral Manipulation working towards a full certification with the Barral Institute.

Using physical assessments as a guide, Pam works intuitively, listening closely to the client and the tissue to address conditions or concerns you may be experiencing. Knowing that pain doesn’t always equal gain, Pam takes care to provide the right treatment for your individual needs and lets you and your body lead the way.

Outside of Massage Therapy, the majority of Pam’s time is spent being Mama to her THREE children and finally delving into the world of her own selfcare. Melody has always been passionate about working with children/adolescents and ensuring that their voices are heard, and their needs are met. Throughout her education and career, Melody discovered how Attachment Theory aligns with this passion. Circle of Security Parenting offers a practical and easy-to-use framework for understanding and meeting your child’s emotional needs, which allows for parents to form that secure parent-child attachment.

Living in such a face-paced, nonstop society makes being a kid really hard these days. Kids are bombarded with pressures from all areas of their lives with little time to process their thoughts and feelings about what is going on in their lives. What we all need – kids especially – is to have a space where we can just be ourselves with no outside pressures. It is in these spaces that we can develop and learn how to make sense of our thoughts and feelings.

Melody provides trauma-informed, attachment-based parent counselling, Circle of Security Parenting for individuals and couples, and child counselling for kids 0-12 years old. Melody draws from different therapy modalities to address the needs of her clients. Melody desires to meet her clients where they are at, provide empathy and compassion, and explore with them how they can better understand their emotions and move forward as more confident individuals.

Counselling services offered by a Master level Registered Social Worker are covered by most private healthcare benefit plans.

Melody enjoys spending time with her family and friends and is the mother or four lively children. Melody loves being outside near any body of water, playing soccer, snowboarding, rock climbing, and thrifting.
